1223141959aSri Radhastami is the celebration day of Srimati Radharani’s appearance. Srimati Radharani is the consort of Lord Krishna. She appeared to Vrishabhanu Maharaj (her father) in the village of Raval a fortnight after Krishna’s appearance.  On Radhastami, the Deities are covered in flowers.

The day of Radhastami is spent by the devotees in reading the transcendental pastimes of Radharani and her Gopi friends, and her lila pastimes in the groves of Vrndavana with Krsna. Radharani’s is the greatest devotee of Lord Krishna. Krishna therefore loves Her the most. On Her festival day, devotees seeking Krishna’s grace will especially ask Her to grant them devotion to Her beloved Lord, knowing that if they can attain Her favor, they can attain His as a natural consequence.

Srimati Radharani is the center of all Vrndavana’s activities. In Vrndavana, Krishna is the instrument of Srimati Radharani; therefore all the inhabitants of Vrndavana still chant “Jaya Radhe”. From Krishna’s own statement given herein, it appears that Radharani is the Queen of Vrndavana and that Krishna is simply Her decoration. Krishna is known as Madana Mohana, the enchanter of Cupid, but Srimati Radharani is the enchanter of Krishna. – His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (Sri Caitanya Caritamrta Madhya lila  13.150 purport)
